The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred in East Meadow on Aug. 23 at 4:15 a.m.
According to detectives, Marine Staff Sgt. James Farr, 33 of Garden City, was operating a 2005 BMW westbound on Hempstead Turnpike when he struck East Meadow brothers Thomas Occhiogrosso, 27, and Joseph Occhiogrosso, 28, as they were crossing in the vicinity of Conti Square Boulevard. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:36 a.m. Joseph was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 5:58 a.m.
Farr was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter – 2nd degree and one count of DWI. He was arraigned on Aug. 24 in First District Court, Hempstead.
