Lara Logan is in “remarkably good spirits” and is expected to be released from the hospital, Howard Kutz of The Daily Beast reports.
CBS released a statement on their website yesterday stating Logan was sexually assaulted by a group of men the day Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down.
Logan was reporting on the celebration under way in Tahrir Square in Cairo for 60 Minutes when she was surrounded by 200 people when a mob “whipped into a frenzy,” the statement said.
Sources told Kutz that Logan had left Egypt but went back to report on the Google Executive, Wael Ghonim, who became the face of the revolution after he was detained by authorities.
Logan had already been arrested in Egypt before she decided to go back, sources told Kutz.
