The Hicksville Baseball Association Senior League Championship was won by the Blue Claws, a team everyone said could never compete with The Iron Birds.
However on June 18 the Blue Claws thrilled the crowd with an exciting 1-1 ball game into the 11th inning when the “underdogs” took control and won 3-1. It was a hot summer day and fans of all ages would stop to see what was happening on that beautiful Abe Levit field. Every boy on that team gave everything they had and played a role in winning that game. It reminded many of us spectators why we love baseball and why no one should ever give up. All the parents and players would like to thank the coaches for giving their time, and for the fun dinner after to celebrate! For the boys who aged out of HBA this year good luck and thanks for the thrilling end to the season.
