It looks like Nick Lachey is ready for Round 2.
The pop-singer married his girlfriend of five years, Vanessa Minnillo, on Friday in a ceremony on a tropical island, according to People. The two celebrities tied the knot in front of 35 friends and family.
“For us, this is just a stepping stone to do what we ultimately want and that’s to start a family together,” Minnillo told the magazine.
She said guests had no idea where they were going.
Lachey told People, “Our wedding invitations were in the form of a plane ticket. We told them they were going away and the attire was ‘island chic.’ It was all very vague.”
The couple got engaged in November. This is Lacehy’s second marriage after he and Jessica Simpson divorced in 2006.
The former 98 Degrees singer and Simpson had a popular reality show together on MTV called “Newlyweds” while they were married.
It is unclear if a reality show is in the future for the duo, but the couple’s wedding will be aired on TLC in a special called “Nick and Vanessa’s Dream Wedding” which airs July 30, for all those who didn’t get that special plane ticket wedding invitation.
“Just to clear the air on this, @VanessaMinnillo and I are doing a one time wedding special for TLC, NOT a reality series. Gonna be special!” Lachey tweeted last month.
Lachey is currently the host of the “The Sing-Off” where singing groups are judged by a group of celebrities. The Fall premiere is scheduled for Sept. 19 at 8 p.m.
