“True Blood’s” Alexander Skarsgard and fellow actress Kate Bosworth have called their relationship quits.
According to US Weekly, who first confirmed the break up, the pair dediced to part ways after almost two years of dating.
An anonymous source close to the couple told the magazine that the split was amicable. “It was very mutual. And it happened awhile ago,” said the source.
The same source claims that Skarsgard has yet to start dating again but that he is single and “loving the attention.”
According to Just Jared, the last time the two where spotted out in public together was in April while attending the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California. One witness said the couple looked happy together at a concert for the group, Kings of Leon. “They looked like such a cute couple, holding hands and chatting with friends,” said the eye witness.
The pair first met on the set of the thriller “Straw Dogs” in which they played a married couple. The film is set for limited release on September 16.
Throughout the relationship, Bosworth continually refused to admit they were an item telling People that the two were not romantically involved.
“That’s a minefield, man! I’m not stepping into that. I’ve learned too well from being on that road,” said Bosworth. “We are very good friends. He’s a wonderful, wonderful man. I adore him.”
Skarsgard has been in the public eye frequently lately. The 34-year-old actor was spotted in San Diego early last week promoting the fourth season of “True Blood” at Comic Con with his co-stars, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer.
The trailer for Skarsgard upcoming action film “Battleship” based off the popular board game, was just released online today. The film also stars singer Rihanna and “Taken” actor Liam Neeson. “Battleship” will be released in May of 2012.
Bosworth was recently spotted hugging her ex Orlando Bloom in Los Angeles on July 7 according to Just Jared. The pair dated on and off for five years. Bloom is currently married to Victoria’s Secret model, Miranda Kerr.
