Long Island Rail Road train service to Montauk is on track starting during the Wednesday evening rush hour.
Officials said the first eastbound Montauk-bound train from Penn Station leaves at 6:17 p.m.
Service had been suspended east of Speonk on the Montauk Branch while crews cleared the tracks of downed trees and repaired damage from Tropical Storm Irene.
LIRR officials expect to have service restored on the Greenport line before the Labor Day weekend.
