Rapper Too Short was the victim of an Internet rumor this week. Apparently Too Short died of a heart attack.
All day rumors have been swirling on the Internet that the rapper died and according to TMZ, several pranksters have even already attempted to change the guy’s Wiki page to reflect his death.
The rapper only suffered a death rumor and the 45-year-old rapper later took to Twitter to explain.
“I’m not dead, I’m just mackin. Too Short 1990,” he tweeted.
“Thanks for the calls, texts, emails & tweets. Its good to know yall got love for me. Retweet it & facebook post it. #2Short‘sAlive,” he tweeted.
“Stop calling my phone. I’m not dead. Been in the lab working on my 19th album #NoTrespassing in stores Feb 2012,” he tweeted.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the rapper is best known for early Bay Area rap classics like “I’m a Player” and “Life Is…Too Short.”
Too Short hasn’t just limited himself to rapping, throughout the years he’s been seen in movies and other television clips including “Menace II Society,” “American Pimp,” “The Game” and even made a cameo appearance in Jay-Z’s video “Big Pimpin.”
Too Short isn’t the only victim of the Internet death rumor mill, Nelson Mandela was “dead” in September.
Mandela, 93, was rumored to have died in September. The rumor spread on Twitter and quickly became a trending topic on the social media site in South Africa.
According to Reuters, the Former South African President Nelson Mandela was later confirmed alive and well.
Earlier this year, Will Smith “Died” —- according to reports, the former Fresh Prince star took a tumble for the worst from a New Zealand cliff. He was later confirmed alive and well too.
