Wednesday, Suffolk County Police arrested a Wyandanch man after he was caught selling alcohol to a minor during an underage alcohol sting.
An underage volunteer acting as an agent with the Suffolk County Police Department entered 13 businesses in Suffolk County with the intent to purchase alcohol on Nov. 23 as part of an underage alcohol sting. Some of the businesses were selected based on community complaints while others were selected at random.
12 businesses refused the sale of alcohol to the underage agent but one business failed the inspection.
An employee of the BP Gas Station in Ridge, Gurjinder Singh, 32, of Wyandanch, was arrested and charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child for selling him alcohol.
Singh will be held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Nov. 24. The business will also be referred to the State Liquor Authority.
