Long Island Resident Wins 2011 Gosling Invitational

1664Joe Horowitz, a Webair brand ambassador and professional golfer, won the 2011 Gosling’s Invitational and the first place $12,000 check earlier this month.

On Dec. 1, Horowitz, took to the green in Bermuda, where he finished in first place, making it his second first place finish in three years at the Gosling’s Invitational Crown at Belmont Hills.

In 2008, according to Islandstats.com, Horowitz ended the tournament with a shared the trophy with Mike Donald, after both players battled it out but agreed to share the trophy in the end.

This year, the professional took to the Bermuda course once again, determined to take home the trophy alone.

According to Royal Gazette, Horowitz, 32, played in a threesome that included past winners Bill Walsh and Kirk Hanefeld.

He won the tournament with a six-foot putt on the final hole to save par, according to the Royal Gazette.

“The first time I won was more of a relief but this one is more like joy and happiness and confirmation. It feels so much better than I thought it would feel,” he said.

According to Blue Toad, Joe is not only a successful golfer but also accomplished singer/songwriter whose music has been featured on numerous film and television projects. Horowitz has released two albums on iTunes and has been performing shows across North America to help support himself on the road to the PGA Tour.
