“Survivor: South Pacific” has come to an end and one lucky person went home with the big prize: $1 million.
The lucky contestant was a 22-year-old medical student from New York named Sophie Clarke.
In the finale Sunday, it all came down to Clarke and “Coach” Ben Wade, a returning “Survivor” contestant.
With Wade getting 3 votes, it just wasn’t enough to pull him through. The host read off the votes and the jury voted 5-3 in favor of Clarke.
Clarke was soon announced the winner and gave Wade and Albert Destrade, the third runner-up, hugs before running off into the audience to celebrate with her family.
Clarke appeared on the CBS reunion show and spoke on her win. “I had a feeling, but you never know,” she said, according to Hollywood Gossip. “I think I had my finger on the pulse of the game the whole time.”
Another favorite of the season was also awarded money. Oscar Lusth was named the Sprint Player of the Season and awarded $100,000. He reportedly beat out eight on Redemption Island but lost to Sophie.
Fans who were sad that this season came to a close, got some light at the end of the tunnel Sunday—-News was announced that “Survivor,” fans will get their next fix in February.
During the last episode, host, Jeff Probst teased a preview of the next installment, “Survivor: One World.” The reality show competition will feature two tribes living together on one island.
The 24th season of “Survivor” will reportedly take place in Samoa and will consist of Salani and Manona tribes living on the same beach. And according to CBS, the tribes are rumored to be split by sex.
