According to Suffolk County Police, a fire killed a woman in Selden early Christmas morning.
Reportedly, at around 1:30 a.m., members of the Selden Fire Department responded to the St. Joseph’s Village Apartment Complex, located at 2000 Boyle Road, in Selden after a 911 caller reported a fire. Firefighters extinguished the flames and found Marie Mahoney, a resident of Apartment 16C, in her bedroom. The 69-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire appears to be non-criminal in nature. The investigation is continuing.
