The Lollapalooza 2012 Lineup has just been announced.
The festival will kick off August 3 at Grant Park in Chicago, IL and offer up some of the best names in music.
Lollapalooza was originally created by Perry Farrell in 1991 as the farewell tour for his band Jane’s Addiction.
“His idea morphed into a larger-than-life musical roadshow that would bring music, culture, and community to fans all over the continent. Before the Internet, there wasn’t a great way to get music from up-and-coming bands to the fans,” reads Lollapalooza.com.
“Farrell’s festival did it with flair, pulling together diverse acts like Nine Inch Nails andIce-T for a culture-spanning celebration the world had never seen.”
Since its inception, Lollapalooza has been providing music lovers days of top entertainment. It’s come along way over the years, making a home in Grant Park in 2005, and expanding to include over 130 artists from hip-hop, electronica, reggae, indie, rock, modern roots and more.
