The Varsity Lady Dalers continue to roll through Class A girls lacrosse and are now 8-0. The Lady Dalers are putting up some impressive stats on both the offensive (150 goals) and defensive sides (35 goals) of the field. The Dalers have a string of games against highly ranked opponents that starts with nationally ranked Garden City at home on May 1, followed by Port Washington on May 3 and Manhasset on May 7.
The JV Lady Dalers are also off to a good start and currently 6-2. The JV Lady Dalers have a small roster of 14 hardworking and very dedicated lacrosse players. The team consists of 10 freshman, three sophomores and one junior (Katherine Tuttle, Summer Baranello, Tori DiCicco, Shannon Lawlor, Melissa Leone, Jennifer Lyons,Jessica Mangieri, Georgia Miller, Paige Nelson, Katie Phillips, Valerie Scimeca, Jenn Thompson, Sarah Konchalski and Linday Ramos in goal.)
Howitt Middlle School seventh and eighth grade girls combined team has started their preseason training. The Howitt girls had their first game on April 30 against Island Trees at home.
The eighth-grade PAL team has continued to improve this season. The girls recently faced some tough competition. The eighth-grade Lady Dalers came up short in a hard fought rainy game against Long Beach. The loss did not dampen the team’s spirit and they look forward to their next game against East Meadow.
The sixth-grade PAL girls are off to a rough and challenging schedule. The girls are coming together as a team and hope to improve with a win in their next game against Garden City.
The fifth-grade PAL Green had an impressive win over Huntington 10-5 on April 21.
The fourth-grade PAL White team has started their season with back-to-back wins over Dix Hills and Long Beach. Between victories, the fourth-grade team spent April 9 supporting the varsity Lady Dalers during their victory over Penfield. The girls got to warm up and interact with the Lady Dalers on the sidelines.
Third-grade PAL is off to an amazing first season coached by Allissa Calandrino. The girls played their first PAL game against Garden City and came up a little short, 7-5. Tremendous effort by all and their next game will be against Bayville.
The Farmingdale High School Lady Dalers will host the Long Island Challenge on May 5. Come out and support the best teams on Long Island as they compete at Allen Park. First game starts at 2:30 p.m. with the Lady Dalers, concluding this event at 8:30 p.m. against East Port South Manor.
