Obituary: Lawrence R. Jorgensen

Lawrence R. Jorgensen, of Farmingdale, passed away on April 6, 2012. Husband of Joy. Father of Joy Jorgensen Guarino. Father-in-law of Bob Guarino. Grandfather of Jayme (the light of his life). Brother of Elizabeth Steenbuck and Catherine Brooks. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Companion of his golden retriever J.D. and the late Winston and Joker. Past district governor of Rotary District 7250, past president and member of the Farmingdale Library Board, past president and lifelong member of the Farmingdale Bethpage Historical Society, past president and member of the Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary, member of the Village Planning Board, member of the CAC Farmingdale Public Schools and Masonic Guiding Star/Angle Lodge 0565 F.&A.M. Bronx, member of the NY State Association of Library Board Trustees and the Nassau County Library Board Trustees. Funeral service was held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Interment Huntington Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family requested donations to the L.I. Lutheran High School or the Yes Community Counseling Center in Massapequa. Arrangements entrusted to the McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, Farmingdale.
