Mother’s Day Family Fair
The Friends of the Farmingdale Library are seeking crafters and flea market vendors for their Mother’s Day Family Fair to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Table space is $40 and may be reserved by calling either 454-6813 or 244-0829. Space is limited, so reserve your space early.
Huge Scale Model Show
Get an entertaining, miniature glimpse into our past at NoreastCon 2012, LI’s largest scale model show. Sponsored by the LI Scale Model Society, this two-day event kicks off at 9 a.m. on May 5 and concludes May 6 at 5 p.m. There will be hundreds of models on exhibit next to full-size inspirations. Also includes exhibits, movies, seminars and activities or shop 60 tables of discount vendors. Raffles, re-enactors in uniform and free model-building clinics for kids will add to the fun and excitement. A must-see for hobbyists, historians, artists, craftspeople, collectors, students, soldiers and veterans. The event is being held at the American Airpower Museum, 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale.

The Farmingdale Columbiettes will have a fashion show fundraiser at the Knights of Columbus 2204, 1 Morton St., Farmingdale (off Route 109, behind 7-11) at 1 p.m. Cost: $20 includes dinner and dessert as well as a fashion show presented by Dress Barn. Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center
A social day care program offering socialization and stimulation to persons 60 and over. The caring staff provides innovative activities for those who can no longer attend regular senior centers because of physical and/or mental impairment. It also affords respite to caregivers allowing them valued time to devote to matters of home or personal needs. This interfaith service meets on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 407 Main St. Support groups are also held once a month on Wednesdays.
