The Division Avenue High School Dragons just finished a three-game sweep of Roslyn to maintain a one-game lead over South Side for first place in League A2. The Dragons won the first two games 6-4 and 2-0.
In the first game, junior Justin Wiertz went two for three with two runs scored and Lenny Martinez went one for two with two RBIs. In game two sophomore Mark Martinez pitched a shutout allowing seven hits while striking out six, he also led the offense going three for four.
In the final game the Dragons offense came alive winning 18-3. Division had 16 hits led by Mark Martinez once again going three for four with two runs scored, Joe Spitaleri went two for three with three runs and Matt O’Rourke went two for four with two runs scored.
