Spring Plant Sale

St. Ignatius Boy Scout Troop 382 will be hosting a Spring Plant Sale. Start spring planting with this beautiful variety of annuals, hanging baskets and specialty items. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Sears parking lot (in front of the Auto Center) on Route 106/107, Hicksville.

Flea Market

The Parkway Community Church, 95 Stewart Ave., Hicksville, will hold its annual Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain or shine). There will also be a bake sale and refreshments. Walk Of Love Walk-A-Thon

Ronald McDonald House of Long Island’s Annual Walk Of Love Walk-A-Thon. The three-mile walk will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Eisenhower Park. Check-in will start at 9 a.m. Senate candidate George Maragos will be on hand for the opening ceremony and Ronald McDonald will lead the walk at 10 a.m. Registration fees are as follows: $20 pre-registration; $15 children (under 12); $25 day of registration. Registration includes an event T-shirt, special raffle for preregistered walkers, entertainment, meet and greet with Ronald himself, refreshments, finish line medal and finish line celebration. Nassau County Historical Society

Natalie Naylor presents “The Legacy of New Deal Art on Long Island” at 7:30 p.m. in the Hicksville Middle School auditorium, 215 Jerusalem Ave. Free. Call 516-538-7679. All welcome. This slide presentation focuses on surviving New Deal murals and sculptures in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Fifty murals and sculptures survive in post offices, schools, and government buildings including five in the Hicksville Middle School auditorium where the meeting is being held. •Perceptual Problems Affecting Reading/Learning. •The River Flows Coffee House, an evening of fellowship consisting of conversation, board games, music that rocks as well as coffee provided by Starbucks and cake are offered. Eyes Of Learning

A non-profit metaphysical study group held at Levittown Hall, Levittown Pky., Hicksville. Membership is $15 for individuals; $25 joint membership per year. HUMC Food Pantry Open

Hunger is a real issue facing our local area. In response to this need, the Hicksville United Methodist Church, 130 Old Country Rd., opened a food pantry. The pantry is open on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Non-perishable foods, paper goods and hygiene items are given to our neighbors in need. Contact us if you can help in any way.
