Charlize Theron has shaved her head.
Don’t worry, she’s not going to be attacking paparazzi with umbrellas in Britney Spears melt-down-style anytime soon. She’s gotten rid of her golden locks for a new role. Talk about dedication.
Charlize may have had a lot of fun glamming up as Ravenna for “Snow White and the Huntsman” and as Meredith Vickers in “Prometheus,” but for her role in “Mad Max: Fury Road,” her character Furiosa rocks a bald noggin, so Charlize is going along with the look.
She’s not the only star to shave her head for a role. Demi Moore famously shaved her head for “G.I. Jane” and Natalie Portman exposed her scalp for “V for Vendetta.”
Somehow the 36-year-old can still pull off looking utterly fabulous even without her signature flowing locks. She stepped out wearing a gray fedora, and the new momma rocked it. At first people weren’t sure if the Beverly Hills resident was just wearing her hair in a bun, but her rep confirmed to the Huffington Post that she had in fact shaved her head for the new role in “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
Though Charlize’s best look is dolled up and with luscious blonde locks, it’s not the only time she’s dulled down her looks for a part. She drastically changed her appearance for her award-winning role as in “Monster” and went for a more natural look in “North Country.”
