The next day the All-Stars walloped the Canada team 16-0 behind pitcher Melissa Ward’s 3-hitter and an offensive attack that produced 15 hits. On Sunday, Aug. 12, New Hyde Park only scrounged up three hits and were tripped up by six defensive miscues as its Southwest opponent from Albuquerque, New Mexico cruised to a 9-3 victory.
Should the All-Stars defeat the West team from Kapolei, HI, NHP will be in a position to move on to the semifinals as one of the top two teams to come out of Pool B.
