Nassau County police homicide detectives are investigating the deaths of two people in Elmont who were found with apparent gunshot wounds Monday night, police said.
Police were called to a house on Sussex Road around 6:33 p.m. because of a possible gas leak, but when responding officers arrived they found two people—a 46-year-old woman and 58-year-old man—in the home with gunshot wounds, police said. They were pronounced dead at 7 p.m., police said.
There was no gas leak at the home, police said.
The victims’ identities have been withheld pending family notification.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
