Cancer Awareness Comes to Plainview Soccer Park

The Peter C. Collins Soccer Park in Plainview plays host to the Estee Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Day Sunday, Oct. 20.

Forty teams of under-14 girls will be playing at the park that day to help raise funds and awareness for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Through American Challenge, the teams will play with soccer balls that bear pink ribbons, as well as logos for the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign and the Long Island Junior Soccer League. The phrase “We’re Stronger Together,” the motto of this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, will also be printed on each of the balls, which will be given to each team as game balls that they will keep after they use them in the game.

The Estée Lauder Companies will also provide all players with pink ribbon wristbands, t-shirts, and a gift for the team that shows the most “Pink Spirit” as part of their team uniform that day.
