Nassau County is teaming up with the School for Language and Communications Development (SLCD) to open a new Able Community Services (ACS) program at Nassau Hall in Muttontown.
The program will provide vocational support and job training to adults with developmental disabilities on Long Island.
“Together, we will help enhance the skills of many residents and create a workforce that is trained and ready to be hired by local employers,” said Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano.
Nassau Hall was designed by famed architects Delano & Aldrich and built in 1903. The building and office space has been restored and renovated for use by SLCD, while maintaining the historical integrity of the structure. Nassau Hall is also home to the Long Island Regional Planning Council and the Nassau County Police Employee Assistance Program.
