Linda S. Ruden of Roslyn is one of the many Long Island artists whose work is currently on display at CW Post-Hutchins Gallery. Ruden’s painting, “Yoga At The Lake” is part of the Women Of The World Art & Photography Exhibit featuring over 100 works of art on display at CW Post throughout the month of March.
It has already been a busy year for Ms. Ruden. An artist who works in oil and collage, she had a solo show in January at the Port Washington Library Main Gallery and a Spring Show of Oils and Works on Paper at the Gold Coast Art Center in Great Neck.
In addition, Ruden has recently shared her process in a video of her work called “Art is My Savior” on Long Island Push Pause Vios.
Overseas, Ruden has had the experience of painting plein air in Paris with Howard Rose and plans to do the same this year in Tuscany.
“My Yoga series is an interaction of the Yogi Figure in the landscape. The Yogi and the environment reflect off each other, blend together and become one,” she said about her entry.
The Women of the World exhibit is designed to promote local female artists and contribute to the growing arts industry in the county. The display of art will bring recognition to over 50 award-winning artists and kick-off Women’s History Month in Nassau County.
“Nassau County is home to some of the most talented artists in the Country,” said Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos. “I am honored to host the Women of the World Art Exhibit as a way to promote our local artists and spur further growth in our local film and art industry. The Comptroller’s office is always ready to support our local businesses, artists and entrepreneurs.”
“As curator of Women Of The World it was an amazing ‘artventure’ for me to set out on a quest to locate and invite fifty outstanding women artists from every corner of Long Island to showcase their individual style,” added curator, Jill Rader Levine “The results of their creativity in expressing the theme of the feminine mystique in the medium of their choice are brilliant – 50 unique images that will leave a memorable impression on all who attend this event.”
The exhibition will also be on view to the public during the month of March at LIU Post – Hutchins Gallery in the Schwartz Library, more specifically from now until March 29. Hours are Tuesday – Saturdays, 2-5 p.m.
