Rose Ryan, affectionately known as “Grandma Rose”, was recently recognized by the Westbury School District for her dedication and support for the community’s students. Ryan is the consummate volunteer to the Westbury schools.

She has served selflessly as president of the local SEPTA chapter, coordinates numerous fundraisers including the annual “Game Nights” and “Family Fun Fair”, proceeds of which benefit our special education students. She attends meetings early in the morning as well as late into the night. She advocates for all students and has received donations of laptop computers for several classrooms. She was instrumental in having a sign placed in front of one of the schools to ensure the safety of our students. Her commitment to the students of Westbury is evidenced by her enthusiasm, passion and dedication.

Ryan was presented a citation from Nassau County for her tireless dedication to the district.
