The Floral Park Memorial High School Parents Athletic Booster Club announces its fifth annual golf outing to take place on Monday, June 23 at the North Shore Towers Country Club. This event is a fundraiser for the school’s athletic programs. Additional committee members are welcome. Jimmy Klein, a retired NYPD sergeant and resident of Floral Park, was struck by an auto on Jan. 7 while walking home from the train station. He sustained life-threatening injuries but continues to recover. A fundraiser will be held on June 28 from 7 p.m. to midnight at St. Hedwig’s Parish to help offset his medical expenses. Admission is $50 and includes food, soda, beer and music. Raffles, T-shirts, and prizes will be available. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy brings their swingin’ big band era sound to the beach at Point Lookout for the Town of Hempstead’s Annual Independence Celebration on Saturday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. Along with the free concert, the evening includes a fireworks display and a patriotic tribute to military veterans.
