The Berry Hill PTA has re-established a committee to support Project Linus – a non-profit organization that provides homemade blankets to children in need. During recess, a dedicated Berry Hill PTA committee of present and alumni parents, teachers and staff – using generously donated materials including yarn and hooks – taught fourth and fifth grade students how to make crocheted rectangles. The crocheted rectangles will then be sewn together to make beautiful blankets. Once the blankets are finished, the Berry Hill PTA will donate them through Project Linus to local children’s hospitals and shelters. Since 1998, Project Linus has donated more than five million handmade blankets to children in hospitals and shelters across the country. Berry Hill students really enjoyed working together to accomplish a common goal and help others in need.
