A Melville teenager is facing assault charges after she allegedly hit four men with her car in Wyandanch and fled the scene, Suffolk County police said.
Netanya Lewis, 18, was involved in an “altercation,” police said on S. 32nd Street at 4 a.m. Thursday.
Det. Lt. Robert Edwards of the First Squad said the altercation was related to a romantic rivalry.
“That was the precipitating factor,” he said.
Lewis was leaving the area when the men were allegedly struck. Their identities weren’t released.
The men were treated for minor injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said.
“It looked worse than it was,” Edwards said.
Lewis was charged with four counts of third-degree assault and one count of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries. An arraignment date wasn’t immediately released.
