A couple has been arrested for allegedly dealing heroin in Seaford while their 2-year-old son was in the backseat of their car on Monday night, Nassau County police said.
Sharod Certain, 21, of West Babylon, and 22-year-old Kaleya Robinson of Bentwood were charged with criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance as well as endangering the welfare of a child.
Narcotics Vice Bureau detectives watched as the couple sold “an undetermined amount of a substance believed to be heroin to another individual” from their Toyota Corolla at the corner of Jackson and Condit streets at 9:21 p.m., police said in a news release.
The couple was taken into custody at the scene and the child was released to a family member. Investigators said they found 13 bags of heroin and a gravity knife in the car.
Certain and Robinson will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
