Festivity was the focus of the Dec. 10 Board of Education meeting for the Sewanhaka Central High School District, as more than 100 students across the district’s five schools framed the board room to serenade the community with holiday classics, including “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Joy to the World.”
Also honored at the meeting were four students from Sewanhaka High School who received notable recognition. Andreas Pavlouv and Willane Saint-Hilaire are Outstanding Participants in the 2014 National Achievement Scholarship Program; Dorothy Yu is a National Merit Commended Scholar and Anthony Pomara recently received the 2014 National PTA Award of Merit for his original photography set to the theme “Believe, Dream, Inspire.”
