A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in the driver’s hometown of Brentwood on Thursday night.
Suffolk County police said Nicholas Takaki, 27, was driving a Lincoln eastbound on Express Drive South when he struck a pedestrian crossing the street shortly before 6 p.m.
The victim was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Third Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
