Camille La Vie is a dress lover’s dream. Whether you’re in the market for a prom dress, dress to wear to a wedding or something for your sweet 16, there’s a good chance you’ll find the perfect one among the rows and rows of elegant, sparkling dresses that fill the store.
The specialty dress store celebrated the grand opening of its Carle Place location Saturday, Feb. 21, just a week after moving into 210 Glen Cove Road. The store celebrated in style, with a DJ, candy bar and models walking the floor, showing off some of the latest dress trends.
Whether it’s a long, bejeweled gown to wear to prom, elegant mother-of-the-bride dress or a short and classy cocktail dress, Camille La Vie has a wide selection. The store carries dresses in petite and plus sizes, with prices ranging from $150 and up. They can also be special-ordered. And not only are there many dresses to choose from, but they’re also styles you would not find any place else.
“We have social occasion dresses for every customer,” said Camille La Vie president Denise Viotti. “And 40 percent of our merchandise is made exclusively for us. A girl can buy something here no one else will have.”
That’s one of the many things that sets the specialty dress store apart from its competitors, according to Greg Gatton. director of stores.
“We’ll knock out any department store when it comes to selection,” said Gatton. “You just can’t find special occasion dresses in this volume any place else.”
In addition to dresses, the store also carries clutches and jewelry. Towards the back of the store, there’s also a modest, but versatile selection of strappy high-heeled shoes, perfect for any formal occasion.
The new Carle Place store marks Camille La Vie’s only Long Island location, and so far, so good.
“We’ve always loved this market. We have a lot of customers who travel to our New Jersey store so we knew this would be a great location,” said Viotti. “We’ve been well received so far. People love what they see and we’ve had a warm welcome.”
