Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Councilwoman Viviana Russell spoke to residents at the Carle Place Civic Association meeting on Feb. 25 at Carle Place High School. They were joined by Building Department Commissioner John Niewender and Applicant Advocate Lauren Summa who answered resident questions about department permits and applications. The Supervisor addressed the crowd and recapped the recent community victory regarding the OTB casino proposal, and discussed recent projects completed in the Carle Place area including repairs at Charles J. Fuschillo Park, various drainage improvements and road resurfacing. She also reviewed upcoming initiatives including a “streetscape” project along Westbury Avenue in Carle Place that is expected to get underway in 2017, as well as more repairs to Fuschillo Park, both of which are detailed in the town’s five year capital plan.
