NCPAL Gala In May

A May Gala is scheduled for the Nassau County Police Activity League (NCPAL) called “Helping Kids Get in the Game.” Special Honoree of the evening will be Karen and John Acompora from the Louis J. Acompora Foundation, longstanding supporters of NCPAL. The event, the first annual fund raising Gala for the organization. will be held on Friday, May 1st at the Coral House, 70 Milburn Avenue in Baldwin, New York. The cocktail hour will begin at 7 p.m. and the dinner and awards ceremonies will follow at 8 p.m.

The Gala honor NCPAL volunteers who have served to carry out the mission of the organization that was founded in 1940.Other volunteers who have dedicated at least ten years of service to NCPAL in various capacities will also be recognized.

Nassau County Police Activity League (NCPAL) is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization that operates 29 local units, which cover over 40 different communities in Nassau County. An executive board, a board of trustees and thousands of volunteers carry out the organization’s mission each day. NCPAL’s programs serve over 35,000 young people across Nassau County.

The NCPAL mission is to prevent juvenile delinquency and steer children clear of gang activity, and to aid in the positive interaction of Police Officers and youth. The Nassau County Police Department provides officers to oversee these units and to interact with the youths of these communities. Activities that are offered include sports, crafts, educational, and other programs. These activities vary from unit to unit and are based on the local community needs and interests.
