Fast cars, exploding cars, skydiving cars…but Fast & Furious 7 is so much more than just a car movie. I have to admit, I have never seen any of the Fast & Furious movies, 1-6, but I don’t feel like I needed to in order to enjoy this movie as much as I did.
Yes, some of the dialogue was a little bit clunky to me in the beginning, but I did not go into this thinking I was going to be amazed by brilliant dialogue. The movie does have its trademark car chases, fast-paced stunts, exotic and custom cars, and oh, the gorgeous scenes shot in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. You won’t want to miss that scene in particular.
This action/crime/thriller sets Deckard Shaw (Jason Stratham) seeking revenge against Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), his friends and family for Shaw’s brother, Owen who is in a coma.
Furious 7 was star-studded and action-packed throughout and had a great storyline and an even more genius farewell to one of its characters. In November 2013, Paul Walker who played Brian O’Conner in the franchise blockbusters, died in a tragic and ironic car crash in Santa Clarita, CA. This was only four months after Fast & Furious 6 was released on the big screen.
Fans were anxious to see how Walker’s death would affect the franchise. Director James Wan and his crew pulled it off. With the help of CGI and stunt doubles, it was a brilliant way for the cast, crew and fans around the world to be in Walker’s presence “one last time.”
