MOMMAS House Mother-Child Residences recently hosted a Mother of the Year Contest. We would like to announce that one of our winners was local Massapequa mom, Patricia Pogozelski.
Pogozelski was nominated by her daughter, Carriann, who wrote a beautiful entry about her “strong, caring, loving” mother. Pogozelski is a dedicated and thoughtful caregiver. Aside from raising her own children, Pogozelski has taken in foster children and cared for her parents as they grew old. Upon hearing the news of our contest, Pogozelski paid us a visit at the MOMMAS House office bearing cake and sharing photographs. We quickly understood what made Pogozelski so special. She has a truly kind spirit and a heart of gold.
MOMMAS House is a nonprofit organization serving young homeless mothers and their children. MOMMAS House provides a safe, loving and stable living environment. These young women set out to gain an education and secure a job so they can independently support their family.
