A 58-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a car while walking across a road in North Patchogue over the weekend.
Suffolk County police said Florencio Cardanas of Patchogue was walking across Medford Avenue just behind two other pedestrians when he was hit by a northbound Pontiac Grand Am at 2:04 a.m. Sunday.
The victim was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he died from his injuries.
The driver, a 37-year-old North Patchogue man, was not injured.
Fifth Squad detectives impounded the vehicle, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information about this crash to call them at 631-854-8552.
