Everett Hall, age 92, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, at Veterans Victory House in South Carolina.
Hall was born in Canton, NC, a son of the late Charles G. and Dorothy Vick Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna S. Hall, and two brothers, Edgar and Virgil Hall.
Hall was drafted into military service in 1944, honorably serving his country in the U.S. Army. After training in the Ordnance Corps he was transferred to the Pacific Theater where he participated in the Luzon, New Guinea and Philippine liberation campaigns. After 16 months overseas, he was returned to the U.S. and was discharged in 1946. He was formerly employed with Northrup/Grumman and his proudest accomplishment was his contributions to the first lunar landing. Hall was an avid golfer and was a volunteer ranger at Wild Wing Golf Course for many years. He was a former resident of Port Washington for 30 years where he raised his family and he also was a former resident
of Myrtle Trace in Conway, SC, for 30 years.
Hall is survived by his daughters: Marianne Mele and her husband, Orlando, of Port Washington, Karen Reynolds and her husband, Nick, of Warwick, NY; and one brother, Vaughn Hall and his wife, Jonny, of Canton, NC. He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who all affectionately referred to him as “Pop.”
