The Great Neck Breast Cancer Coalition (GNBCC) has created the first ever Great Neck Merchants Unite for Great Neck Breast Cancer Coalition Shopping Marathon, to be held on Oct. 15. This fun shopping day will raise funds to support the coalition’s passion for helping others.
The nonprofit GNBCC has been serving the community and Long Island since 1992. It assists women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer through their Lend a Helping Hand program, which provides funding for transportation to medical appointments, child care, housekeeping, wigs, groceries and more.
Their passion for educating local youth inspired the development of the Students & Scientists Breast Cancer/Environmental Research program, which sponsors high school students who intern at world-renowned laboratories researching the causes of breast cancer.
GNBCC also informs the public through risk-reduction presentations and represents the Great Neck community in Albany on Breast Cancer Advocacy Day.
You can support their mission by participating in this all-day event and shopping Great Neck Merchants on Oct. 15. A portion of the sales will be donated to GNBCC. Be sure to leave your email address at the store where you shopped and you will receive a special gift.
