A 51-year-old Bellmore man was fatally hit by a minivan while riding a bicycle across Sunrise Highway in Wantagh on Halloween.
Nassau County police said the victim, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, was crossing Route 27 west of Old Mill Road when he was hit by a westbound Dodge Caravan at 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A passenger in the vehicle was treated for minor glass injuries and traumatic stress.
Homicide Squad detectives impounded the minivan and are continuing the investigation.
