Thomas Kraft, a 22-year-old from Port Washington, died in a motorcycle accident on Monday, Dec. 7, at 5:37 p.m. Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the accident that occurred in Atlantic Beach.
According to detectives, Kraft, traveling eastbound on Park Street near Nassau Avenue on a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle, drove into the westbound lanes traveling east and collided with a 2015 Mercedes-Benz SUV, operated by a male driver, age 55. Kraft was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the Mercedes and his female passenger were transported to a local hospital for trauma services.
Detectives report no apparent criminality. Both vehicles were impounded from the scene for brake and safety inspections.
