The Community Synagogue hosted a musical evening of Broadway showtunes, sung by some of the brightest and most vivid cantorial voices from the New York area. This Broadway-inspired show, “Showstoppers,” featured cantors Claire Franco, The Community Synagogue; David Katz, Or Elohim, Jericho; Todd Kipnis, Temple Shaaray Tefilah, Manhattan; Tracey Scher, Larchmont Temple. Some of the shows included are West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Into the Woods, Jekyll and Hyde, Les Miserables, Follies, Wicked and more.
Approximately 400 guests enjoyed this free presentation which took place on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Community Synagogue, 160 Middle Neck Rd. This show was sponsored by the generous donations to the Music Fund of The Community Synagogue.
The Community Synagogue of Port Washington was founded in 1952 and serves 730 families in Port Washington. It is Port Washington’s largest Reform congregation.
