The 23rd Annual May W. Newburger Women’s Roll of Honor Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. This year’s breakfast will take place at the Clubhouse at Harbor Links in Port Washington from 8 to 10 a.m.
The town will be accepting nominations for the 2016 Women’s Roll of Honor until Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016. Anyone interested in submitting a name for consideration can call North Hempstead’s Call Center at 311 or 516-869-6311 or visit www.northhempsteadny.gov/roll-of-honor and download the application form.
“North Hempstead never seems to have a shortage of amazing women who inspire, motivate and make the world a better place,” said Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “I look forward each year to learning about their work and giving then the recognition they deserve.”
Event chairperson Wayne Wink said, “I am proud we have the opportunity to honor outstanding women for their great contributions to North Hempstead. Each year women throughout the town work for the betterment of their community and deserve to be recognized for their efforts.”
Since 1994, North Hempstead has held the Women’s Roll of Honor breakfast to honor women who reside in the town who have made a contribution to their community, or have accomplished a significant achievement through public or private efforts in a volunteer capacity.
