For more than a decade, Sullivan’s Quay and Finn MacCool’s have been providing nutritious and delicious Thanksgiving meals for Port Washington’s elder community. These full dinners consist of complete Thanksgiving meals, turkey, gravy, potatoes, vegetables, bread and, of course, dessert. Between 40 and 50 meals were delivered Wednesday evening and Thanksgiving morning by St. Peter of Alcantara Church volunteer drivers. They were placed in sturdy bags donated by Whole Foods. Also contributing to a wonderful Thanksgiving for St. Peter of Alcantara’s Social Ministry were hundreds of food and gift card donations from St. Peter’s Parish, Schreiber High School, Friend Together Nursery School and many other organizations.

Finn MacCool’s, one of Port Washington’s most popular eateries, once again generously donated their gourmet Thanksgiving cuisine to the homebound elderly in Port Washington. On Thanksgiving day, owner Connie O’Reilly and his family personally helped their long-time staff prepare the delectable meals. Volunteers from St. Peter of Alcantara took time out from their own celebrations to deliver meals throughout the community.

A wonderful community effort made for a very wonderful Thanksgiving for many Port Washington families and seniors.
