Senator Jack M. Martins recently visited Rushmore Avenue School to thank students for participating in his annual holiday toy drive.
The toy drive is an annual event which brings extra holiday cheer to children in need. All the toys collected by the students were donated to children in Winthrop-University Hospital.
“It’s wonderful to see children working together to help other children in need. The more than 200 toys that the Rushmore Avenue students collected will go a long way to bringing smiles to the faces of families who are going through tough times. I really appreciate their efforts and congratulate them on a job well done,” said Martins.
