Twenty-six Massapequa High School athletes have committed to playing collegiate sports next year, several at the Division I level.

Signing from the boys varsity lacrosse team were: Christopher Bacotti, Div. I, Dartmouth College; James DeTommaso, Div. I, U.S. Air Force Academy; Casey Kimmel, Div. I, Towson University; Ryan Tierney, Div. I, Hofstra University; Francis Callan, III, Div. II, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT); Thomas Nash, Div. II, Springfield College; Nicholas Jelovcic, Div. II, Dominican University; Casey Sheehan, Div. II, Springfield College; Nicholas Georgalas, Div. III, Skidmore College; Justin Lynskey, Div. III, College of the Holy Cross and Brendan Dulligan, Div. III, DeSales University.
Girls varsity lacrosse team members included: Sarah Campbell, Div. II, East Stroudsburg University; Olivia Colletti, Div II, Merrimack College; Allison Stackpole, Div II, Adelphi University and Lilly Bernardi, Div.III, The College of New Jersey.
Signing from the boys varsity baseball team were: Brandon Fanizza, Div. I, NYIT; Matthew Donofrio, Div. III, Swathmore College; Matthew Garland, Div. III, Ramapo College; Kyle McLernon, Div. III, St. Joseph’s College; Justin Schirmacher, Div. III, Hamilton College and Paul Sirakowski, Div. III, Ramapo College.
Girls varsity softball player Darby Pandolfo signed with Div. I, Seton Hall University and Kelle Lalier will play for Div. II, Caldwell College.
Girls varsity swimmer Cara Treble committed to Div. I, Penn State University. Teammate Samantha Mullman will join the Div. III team at St. Joseph’s College.
Girls varsity soccer player committed to Oberlin College’s Div. III team.
“This is truly a proud moment as everything these students have worked for comes to fruition when they sign that commitment to play at the collegiate level,” said John Piropato, the district’s director of health, physical education and athletics. “These talented athletes will be great assets to their future teams and to their chosen schools.”
