Congressman Israel To Discuss New Novel With N. Hempstead’s Senior Book Club

israelU.S. Congressman Steve Israel, who recently announced that he will not seek reelection in 2016 so he can focus on his writing, will be joining the Town of North Hempstead’s senior book club on Monday, Jan. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Clinton G. Martin Park, when the club discusses it’s latest read The Global War on Morris, written by the Congressman.

North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth will also be joining the group for the discussion.

The Global War on Morris is a political satire about a pharmaceutical salesman from Long Island, which critics have called “laugh-out-loud funny.”

The discussion will include a Kosher Deli lunch, which has significance in the novel. Book club members always include a food or beverage that is mentioned in the book as part of their discussion.

Clinton G. Martin Park is located at 1601 Marcus Ave. in New Hyde Park.
