The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Copiague man for criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance that occurred in N. Massapequa on Monday, April 18, at 8:05 p.m.
According to detectives, Maldane Cockett, 26, while on N. Broadway/N. Beech St. sold Heroin to another for an agreed upon amount of money. The defendant is employed as a school bus driver for Suffolk County Transportation.
Nassau/Suffolk Heroin Task Force detectives, along with Bureau of Special Operations police officers place the defendant under arrest at the scene. Cockett is being charged with third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was arraigned on Tuesday, April 19,
in First District Court, Hempstead.
