The Homicide Squad is investigating a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Saturday, April 16, at 7:16 p.m. in Old Westbury.
According to detectives, a 24 year old male was driving a 2004 Nissan Maxima eastbound on the South Service Road of Route 495 approaching Post Road when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb on Store Hill Road. The vehicle continued travelling approximately 40 feet and collided into a tree. The driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The passenger German Enrique Molina, 24, of Mineola was pronounced deceased by emergency room staff of Nassau University Medical Center at 7:59 p.m.
There is no criminality at this time. The investigation is ongoing. The vehicle was impounded for brake and safety checks.
