Though their season ended with a thrilling loss to archrival Massapequa in the Nassau Class AA semifinal, the Farmingdale girls’ basketball team continued to earn plaudits at the recent Nassau County Girls’ Basketball All-Star Dinner, where some of the Lady Dalers were honored.
Italee Brown-Smikle was chosen to the All-County team, and due to her performances in the three playoff games, was also tabbed to the All-Tournament team. The senior, who has committed to Pace University, averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per contest. The Basketbal Coaches Association of New York (BCANY) also conferred All-Academic honors on Brown-Smikle.
Samantha Huebner shared with Brown-Smikle both the All-County and All-Academic honors. Huebner averaged 15.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game for the Dalers, who finished the year with a 16-6 record.
Aisha Smikle was tabbed to the Nassau Class AA all-stars, while Cailee Perettine earned a spot on the All-Conference I team.

To round out the achievement roll, Kat Krieg was honored by the BCANY with its Senior Scholar Athlete award.
