Harry J. DeMeo, a lifelong resident of Port Washington, went to the
Lord on May 30, 2016. He was affectionately known as “Rabbit” to
his many friends. He is predeceased by his wife, Betty, and survived by
his three children: Jonathan and wife, Deby, of Yorktown, Virginia; Christopher of Peyton, Colorado; and Deborah Weidler of Merrick, 
Long Island. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Emily, Patricia, Jessica, Lauren, Mark, Frances and Taylor. His high school yearbook
said it all: “a wonderful boy to know…known for his good naturedness.”
He loved his family and his community. He will be sorely missed. Funeral
arrangements were handled by Austin F. Knowles, Inc. Funeral Home. A
Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 2,
at St. Peter of Alcantara R.C. Church. The interment followed at Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
